A quick search on YouTube for ‘Claude and PowerPoint’ will bring up tons of videos and reviews.
All of them have shiny thumbnail images and titles that entice you with major clickbait, such as:
👉 PowerPoint is Dead
👉 How I use Claude to build all my presentations in minutes
👉 You’ll never need PowerPoint again
We wanted them all to be true!
After all, if we could use a system like Claude to help speed up our design workflows here at The Prezenter then that would be a game-changer for our agency.
So we took the bait🎣 and dived into as many of these promising videos as we could.
After many, MANY hours, we decided that we had to write an honest review of just how good Claude is at creating PowerPoint slides.
We tested the following:
1️⃣ Can Claude build a PowerPoint template for us if we give it brand guidelines
2️⃣ Can the Claude PowerPoint Add-In save us time editing slides directly inside PPT
3️⃣ How does Claude compare to a real PowerPoint user who knows the basics and can comfortably edit slides themselves
Within these three separate tests, we found a heap of good and bad points. All of them are explained in detail on the video below.
We hope you find this honest review useful.
Our hope is that Claude and similar AI tools will help save you time, but beware that you don’t fall for the clickbait out there that sees you fully handing over your entire pitch deck to AI.
You still need the human touch, and probably more so now than ever before.
